Instructions to install Horton DM4300SBL
(Seal-Bearing-Lining Kit for Spring Engaged Series)
Disassembly
Using the T-55 Torx bit provided,
remove the friction plate. The threads are left hand – turn
the T-55 Torx bit counter clockwise while holding the friction
plate from rotating. It will help to apply air pressure to the
clutch while removing the friction plate.
Once the friction plate is
removed, hand-tighten the aluminum cage on the left hand threaded
bolt. If you applied air pressure in step one remove it now.
Remove the lining screws with the
T-27 Torx bit provided. Remove the lining.
Remove the Aluminum Spring Housing.
Use two flat screwdrivers to carefully pry the Aluminum Spring
Housing from the pulley. Be careful not to damage the Aluminum
Spring Housing while removing – you will reuse this piece.
Remove the large rubber seal and wipe
the area clean.
Remove the retaining clip. Gently
remove the Air Chamber Cap, remove the o-ring on the Air Chamber
Cap and wipe clean. Remove the face seal from the Air Chamber
Cap.
Remove the air chamber assembly by
first removing the snap ring. Clean the inside of the shaft.
Remove the bearing nut with a 2”
socket.
The pulley will now slide off
the shaft. Press out the bearings and save any spacers between
the bearings
Installation
Clean all reusable pieces with a clean
towel. Do not put the spring housing in a solvent bath.
Press in the two new bearings into
the pulley (if there were spacers between bearings in the pulley,
reuse them)

Apply o-ring lube to the large thin
o-ring and place it in the groove on the Air Chamber Cap
Place the Air Chamber Cap (face seal
down) in place and install the retaining clip
Apply o-ring lube liberally to the
large red seal. Place the red seal in the pulley, V faces
down.
Place the spring housing over the
red seal while lining up the bolt holes to the bolt holes in the
pulley.

using the 8 screws provided and the T-27 Torx bit. Torque to 80
Inch Lbs.
Now remove the aluminum cage nut.
